Over 40 teachers appointed in Lower Dir

TIMERGARA: The elementary and secondary education department on Tuesday issued appointment orders of 42 teachers of different cadres.

According to a notification, issued by district education officer Dr Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim, a total of seven Qari in grade 12, three physical education teachers in grade 15, three drawing masters in grade 15, 18 Arabic teachers in grade 15 and 11 theology teachers in grade 15 have been recruited through NTS test and interview.

Talking to Dawn the DEO said that appointment order of 202 certified teachers besides hun-dreds of primary schoolteachers would also be issued in a couple of days. He said that all the appointments were made on the recommendation of a departmental committee for the period of one year.

The DEO asked the freshly recruited teachers to take over charge of duty within 30 days. He said that the order would be expired automatically if charge was not taken over within 30 days.

CENSUS: The training process of population census staff in the district concluded here on Tuesday.

Sources said that process of population counting would commence from April 15 as the district had been put in the second phase. In Timergara subdivision, 15 charge superintendents, 80 circle supervisors and 265 enumerators would carry out the census to be completed till May 15.

LAWYERS: The Samar Bagh sub-divisional bar association onTuesday called off its protest conditionally on Efth day on insurance of local police authorities to provide adequate security to lawyers.

The lawyers observed boycott against local police for decreasing number of security officials at the bar. Murtaza Khan, the president of the association, told journalists that three out of Eve security officials were transferred to other places. He said that it was difficult for two men to provide adequate security to the bar.

DEMAND: The parents of students have demanded of the government to provide basic facilities like clean drinl(ing water, electricity and transport to girls` college in Samar Bagh.

They said that the college was made functional last year but it stillneeded basicfacilities.

They said that students hadno transport facility owing to which most of the parents were reluctant to send their daughters to the college.
