Children Assembly dedicated to APS martyrs

LAHORE: The South Asia Partnership-Pakistan (SAPPAK) in collaboration with civil society organisations organised second Children Assembly here on Tuesday at Ali Institute, Ferozpeur Road.

This year children assembly was dedicated to the martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar. Children (girls and boys) and their teachers from 15 schools of Lahore district participated in the event.

According to a press release, children performed various activities. Their basic focus was to demand security for children, not to keep quiet, to say and act to achieve the goal to educate every childin Pakistan,that this is going to be our revenge from those cowards, who attacked and killedinnocent children and teachers and to highlight importance of education.

The children demanded provision of psycho-social support to the students to overcome the fear whenever they recalled the brutal attack by the coward terrorists at APS, besides seeing gunmen sitting at the rooftops of their schools owing to security.

The programme was mainly presented by the children and was focused on the theme `Empower youth and save future`.

They showed through programmes how they were perceiving Pakistan after 10 years as the nextyounggeneration of country.

During discussions, they raised five main points on the issues and how to resolve them. They also took the oath for being the best Pakistani students.
