MULTAN: Scores of parents and area people manhandled on Monday the headmaster of the Government High School, Lalpur Basti Malook, for showing poor results in class IX board results.

Sources said violent parents thrashed Zaffar Gujjar after only one student of the school out of 60 could pass the exams held under the Multan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education this year.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and rescued the headmaster who was later taken to the Basti Malool( police station.

The violent mob threw the furniture out of the school.

DO (Elementary education) Riaz Ahmad Khan negotiated with the parents and ensured them of appropriate action against the headmaster af ter inquiry.

The education department has constituted a committee headed by EDO (Education) Ishfaq Gujjar to investigate the matter, the source said. APP
