T HIS is apropos the increase in fees by a private school in Hyderabad. This is an increase of 15pc to 20pc annually for the past many years.
According to government rules, private schools are allowed to increase the fee at the rate of 5pc a year and that too with the permission of the government department concerned.
The school has been fleecing parents of their hard-earned money, whereas government departments have failed tocheck this unlawful activity of the school.
In addition to this, a computer fee is also being charged at the rate of Rs500 a month.
Annual stationery charges are also charged under the head `syllabus and stationery` without any break-up. Every parent has the same story to narrate.
I request the school administration to withdraw the current fee increase and refund the extra amount charged beyond 5pc for all the past years in addition to the computer fee which has simply no justification.
