`Pak-China friendship beyond cultures and languages`

LAHORE: PakistanChina friendship is beyond cultures and languages and the Chinese community in Lahore is deeply moved at seeing Pakistanis celebrating our national day, said Chinese Consul General in Lahore Yun Boren.

Addressing at celebrations of National Day of China at the Government College University here on Wednesday, Boren said: `The people of Pakistan and China fill the cultural and language gaps with strong feelings of love and respect which they have for each other.

He also gifted books on cultural, geography and political and economic systems of China to the university`s Centre for Excellence in China Studies (CECS).

He also said he was impressed to see CECS students speaking good Chinesewith him. He said he was learning Urdu himself.

`The languages help us understand each other`s cultures. Pakistan and China are increasing people-topeople contact and the youth of both countries is the future of their friendship, he said.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah said every Pakistani was impressed by the economic development of China in the last 66 years.

`We should not only admire China, but must also learn from its experiences and initiatives which have made it an economic power, he added.

GCU CECS Director Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt said the love and respect that Chinese people gave to Pakistanis was unprecedented.

He hoped Pakistan would also progress and proper with support of its friend China.
