SUKKUR: A large group of protesters belonging to the scheduled caste Hindu community held a sit-in in front of the Mubarakpur police station demanding registration of an FIR against a medical practitioner who, they alleged, was responsible for the death of his patient.

Jameel Meghwar died after being administered an injection at the clinic of Talib Hussain situated in the Tikhrato area near Khanpur Mahar town of Ghotki district on Sunday. Meghar’s family members along with a number of their relatives held a protest demonstration and sit-in in front of the police station to seek registration of an FIR against the practitioner, claiming that he was responsible for administering a wrong injection leading to the death.

The protesters, led by Ishwar Meghwar and Beerbal Meghwar, kept raising slogans against the ‘doctor’ and the women among them kept wailing until the police assured them of registering an FIR and arresting Talib Hussain.
