ISLAMABAD: A man in his 70s died when a public transport hit him on Islamabad Expressway on Wednesday.

According to police, the man was standing at a bus stop when the public transport, heading towards Koral, ran over him killing him on the spot.

Driver of the van managed to escape leaving the vehicle behind.

Traf fic on the Expressway was stalled for a while as people of the area blocked the road to protest the accident.

The deceased could not be identified. His body was shifted to hospital located in the limits of Khanna police area.
