Banned outfit activist, four Afghans held

SUKKUR: The Sukkur police`s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested an activist of a banned organisation as police continued their province-wide crackdown against `aliens`, arresting four more Afghan nationals in Badin district on Wednesday.

CTD SP Irfan Samoon said that police had arrested Maulvi Mohammad Ali in the Exhibition Ground area in old Sukkur.

He was associated with a banned organisation and received training in Afghanistan, he said.

Meanwhile, an activist of banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, Khalil aka Jalil Sadhayo, who was arrested by the CTD Sukkur, disclosed during interrogation his plans to carry out explosion at Dargah Chizal Shah in Balochistan, said police sources.

The sources said that Sadhayo disclosed that explosive material for the shrine blast was kept in an empty canister of oil which was placed in the kitchen. It exploded accidentally along with other explosive material for attack on two other places,he said. Investigation was under way, said police.

BADIN: Police arrested four Afghan nationals in Tando Ghulam Ali and Badin.

Tando Ghulam Ali SHO Dhani Bux Marri said that two Afghans were held af ter raid on a house.

Badin police also arrested two Afghans identified as Wahid Khan and Shireen Khan after raids in the city on Tuesday night and registered an FIR against them.
