The `Green Book`

DHAKA: Some important utterances of President Ayub have been compiled into a book entitled `Sayings of President Ayub Khan`. The 50-page pocketsize book is well bound with a green cover.

Printed at the East Pakistan Government Press, the book is divided into three chapters, namely `Sayings of Ayub`, `The Governor Appeals for Implementation` and `Our Ef forts for Progress`.

The President`s sayings on such subjects as Islam, problems of Pakistan and Family Planning have been incorporated.

Governor Abdul Monem Khan said he had ordered the publication of this book to project President Ayub to the people. This hook would be circulated widely so that the people could know the thoughts of President Ayub on various important issues.

In this context the Governor also referred to a similar book printed in China with quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung and said every Chinese studied that book.

Muslim League National Guards today [April 1] waved the new Green Book as they greeted the President at the Institute of Engineers.

Correspondent [Meanwhile, as reported by agencies in Lahore] The Central Health authorities have challaned four chemical manufacturing concerns on the charge of manufacturing substandard medicines and drugs. They have been issued show-cause notices by the department concerned for suspending their licences. These steps have been taken by the Health Department in order to curb the menace of spurious drugs in the province.

The drug inspectors collected about 100 samples of medicines and drugs of various qualities manufactured by different chemical manufacturing concerns in West Pakistan during the last two months.

These samples were sent for examination to the chemical analyst in Lahore to have a report whether the medicines and drugs contained genuine components as required under the formula.
