GUJRAT: An e-library is being constructed adjacent to the sports gymnasium along Bhimbher Road. The Punjab government`s project was launched two years ago with Rs30 million. The project has consistently been facing delays.

Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Butt told Dawn the e-library would have air-conditioned rooms for men and women besides a projector room whereas offices for staff would also be available in the main building.

The library would be equipped with information technology gears,linked to a centralised system across the province as such libraries are also being constructed in other districts.

He said at least 80 per cent of the building work had been done so f ar.

The e-library and the sport gymnasium have been established at 20 kanals of the Zamindar College. The gymnasium has been funcdonal for the last 18 months.

Gujrat Deputy CommissionerMuhammad Ali Randhawa visited the e-library site a few days ago where he ordered the the completion of work in May. Official source said that the project would might be completed by the end of June.
