TOBA TEK SINGH: Kamalia Additional District and Sessions Judge Salman Baig on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to a schoolteacher and her student for killing her husband.

According to the prosecution, Rabia Ali developed relations with her student, Faisal Zawar Husain, and she decided to get rid of her husband, Muhammad Ali.

Two years back, she along with Faisal staged a drama of dacoity and shot her husband dead. The couple told the neighbours that Muhammad Ali was killed by robbers over resistance. During investigation, the couple confessed to killing Ali.

The court awarded life imprisonment to the couple along with Rs50,000 fine to each.

INJURED: A man and his young daughter were shot at and injured allegedly by their rivals over a monetary dispute at Gojra on Wednesday.

According to Gojra city police, Waris Ali and his daughter Shakila Bibi of Wazir Park locality were returning from Faisalabad. They were coming on foot from Katcha Gojra bus stop, when their rivals Farhan, Munir and Shafgat shot at and injured them.

They were admitted to Gojra THQ Hospital.
