Govt still not serious about talks: JUI-S

NOWSHERA, Nov 1: Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and Difa-iPakistan Council (DPC) chairman Maulana Samiul Haq has said that the government of Nawaz Sharif seems to be paving the way for launching a fresh military operation against Taliban.

`The announcement that the government has started negotiations with Tehreek-iTaliban Pakistan and then saying that the opposition parties have extended full support to the government is basically like paving the way for military operationagainst Taliban,` claimed JUI-S chief during his Friday sermon in Nowshera.

He said that the government was still not serious about talks and it would try to blame the opposition parties for starting operation against Taliban. He called upon the government and political parties to start the negotiation process immediately to restore peace in the country.

The DPC chairman said that the fresh drone attack had proved that recent meeting between Mr Sharif and President Barack Obamawas just a renewal of the old stand of Pakistan. `It means that the government`s policies would be framed on American instructions for five more years,` he said.

He said that the nation had given clear decision against Nato supply as millions of people registered their views by participating in protest gatherings on the DPC platform. He said that the JUI-S would extend support to Imran Khan if the PTI followed on its warning to block Nato supply in case drone attacks were not stopped.
