ONE of the reasons for delays in disposing of cases is lawyers`lack of commitment to their professional ethic.
They seem more interested in their fee than in the suffering of their clients. It is a known fact that after the restoration of Iftkhar Chaudhry some lawyers intimidated lower court judges to have decisions in their clients` favour.
I would request the Lahore High Court chief justice not to entertain lawyers` demands, for they want status quo and prefer their personal interest over people`s interest. These lawyers ignore the suffering of the people owing to the prevailing rotten justice system, dysfunctional state institutions and bad governance.
