PML-N, PTI...

2016-11-02
LAHORE: The PML-N says its stance has been vindicated whereas a PTI leader has expressed `surprise` over the `sudden` decision of Imran Khan to call off the Nov 2 protest in Islamabad.

`The PML-N has long been saying that the matter of Panama Papers is in the Supreme Court and the PTI should wait for its decision.

Today our stance has been vindi-cated as the PTI reposed trust in the SC,` Punjab government`s spokesman Zaeem Qadri told a press conference here on Tuesday.

He said Imran Khan had been isolated because of his political`immaturity`. He said Khan had been on roads for the last three years. `We have told him that such decisions are not decided on roads. We hope Khan will learn a lesson from this and from now onward he will not create hurdles and wait for the SC decision,` he said.

Qadri further said PTI workerInaam died of cardiac arrest and not of police shelling and another worker was injured. The PTI should not do politics on this, he said, asking the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take notice of Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak for fanning provincialism.

Zaeem Qadri also appreciated the role of the opposition parties that refused to become part of the PTI protest. `Imran Khan wanted to create instability in the country but he failed,` he said.

On the other hand, PTI leader Begum Mehnaz Rafi has expressed surprise over Imran Khan`s `sudden` decision to call of the protest.

`The Supreme Court has directed both the government and the PTI to develop consensus on Panama ToR and in case of their failure the apex court will do so.

There has been no guarantee the ToR framed by the joint opposition will be accepted by the government and subsequently by court,` she said.
