Committee discusses mobile health units

LAHORE: A technical committee constituted by the health secretary to buy mobile health units (MHUs) has presented its report regarding the specifications and quality of 10 trailer vehicles being bought for more districts.

The report was shared in a meeting of the technical committee, presided over by Health Secretary Jawad Rafiq Malik, on Friday. The report gave priority to the trailer vehicles of international standard for 10 more MHUs to ensure quality and durability.

PCSIR Director General Dr ShahzadAlam, Professor of Polymer and Polyester of University of Engineering and Technology Dr Asif Ali Quasir, Engineer Muhammad Ali, of health department and Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti were present.

The participants expressed satisfaction over the durability and performance of MHUs working in south Punjab districts and decided that the similar MHUs would be bought. Bids would be sought from local and international firms through tenders. Mr Malik said formalities should be completed at the earliest in accordance with the recommendations of technical committee.

The committee will meet on January 7.
