Police stations to have additional SHOs

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police department has decided to post additional station house officers to all the police stations, mainly in the urban areas of the province, to ensure security of sensitive installations and places.The directives were issued by Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani while presiding over a meeting of regional police officers (RPOs) at central police office here on Friday.

The meeting discussed security of schools, colleges and other sensitive establishments, tenants information form (TIF), rented building and hotels security acts and the ongoing search and strike operations in the province.The RPOs gave a detailed briefing of their respective regions about the prevailing security situation and steps taken for it.

The IGP directed the participants to post additional SHOs of the ranl< of inspector or sub-inspector along with necessary staff in all urban police stations to get the required objectives regarding security.

Mr Durrani directed the RPOs and DPOs to personally visit each and every school, college and other sensitive establishments in their jurisdiction and review the security measures adopted there.

They were further directed to ensure that security team headed by a dedicated and professional security in-charge was in place, close circuit television cameras, proper razor-wire on walls and checking of employees through bio-metric system were installed.

Similarly, they were also directed to visit each and every city, town and village and inform and sensitise the people through loudspeakers from mosques and local press to immediately fill the tenant information form (TIF) and register cases against those violating tenant and rented building laws.

Mr Durrani also directed to check the record of all hotels and collect record of those who stayed there.

The IGP also stressed the need for keeping strict vigilance on those who had been bailed out.

Meanwhile, according to a statement, the IGP transferred DPO Karak on poor performance and directed him to report to the CPO here with immediate effect.
