LAHORE: The PML-Q replaced its general secretary Mushahid Husain Sayed with MNA Tariq Basheer Cheema on Monday.

Mr Sayed had been serving the party since its inception during the Musharraf regime.The decision was taken at a meeting of the party held here with PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat in the chair.

A press release by information secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha said the decision had in fact been taken in party`s General Council meeting on Oct 21, 2016, to make appointments afresh to all central offices of the party.

MNA Cheema hails from a political family and has worked as Punjab agriculture minister as well as Bahawalpur district nazim.

Senator Agha said the party would acknowledge services of Mr Sayed by holding a grand reception in Islamabad.

He said that Mr Sayed is busy with CPEC project, which is a national level project and not of any government or party, and the PML-Q is proud that he is utilising his capabilities for the national cause.-Staff Reporter
