Man, girl found murdered CHARSADDA, Nov 2: A young man and a girl were killed in an honor related incident in Mandani area of Charsadda here on Saturday.

The police registered the case on the complaint of Mandani police station ASI Fareed Shah. He said two bodies were recovered from the house of the girl. Relatives of the deceased didn`t lodge report with the police.

Officials said that the two victims were killed in an honor related incident.

The police registered the case and started investigation.-Correspondent More dengue cases in Swat MINGORA, Nov 2: The number of dengue affected people in Swat district has climbed to 8,964 as another 12 patients on Saturday tested positive for the virus at the Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital.

Dr Wasil Khan, focal person for dengue emergency unit, said that with the new cases a total of 5,102 affected people had been admitted to Saidu hospital. He added 4,898 had been discharged af ter completion of treatment, including 15 during last 24 hours.

Dr Khan said that 37 patients, including 27 men, nine women and one child, were under treatment at the hospital while three men and three women, who were in critical condition, had been admitted to high dependency unit of the hospital.-Correspondent Absentee teachers warned LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 2: Deputy district education officer Haji Khalid Wahab on Saturday paid surprise inspection visits to primary schools in Lakki city to check the attendance of teachers and class four employees.

The visits were arranged following public complaints about absence of teachers from schools. He visited government primary schools in Haqdad Abad and Meenakhel and found the teachers present.

In GPS No 2, Meenakhel, the headmaster was on casual leave without taking permission from ASDEO. PTC funds meant for petty civil work and purchase of class articles were also not utilised.

The ESED official expressed dismay over absence of students and poor discipline in both the schools and directed to improve the situation.

He directed teachers to ensure course completion within due time.

He directed the schools to avoid granting casual leaves to teachers without approval, and also hold tests for students to improve their academic position.-Correspondent Jirga to act as special court LANDI KOTAL, Nov 2: Landi Kotal political administration has started exclusive court proceedings involving the local jirga on every Friday to address the longstanding disputes.

Telling about the new court arrangements, assistant political agent Tayyab Abdullah told Dawn that the old jirga hall had been converted into a courtroom for the purpose and that he was personally supervising its working on weekly basis.

`We have started for the first time regular court hearings on every Friday to ensure speedy disposal of pending cases, he said.

Mr Abdullah said that jirga members would sit at the court and summon rival parties for resolution of their disputes.

The assistant political agent hoped the measure would provide relief to the litigants who had been waiting for long time for disposal of their cases. `It will also help build confidence of ordinary people in the working of such courts,` he said.-Correspondent Office-bearers LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 2: Insaf Youth Wing, Darra Pezu chapter, on Saturday elected office bearers at a meeting chaired by district vice president Mohammad Zubair.

ISF activists unanimously elected Ameer Ahmad Jan and Ahmad Mudassir Hayat as president and general secretary of the students` wing, respectively.

Other office bearers included Ishrat Yamin and Safiullah (senior vice presidents), Mohammad Zubair and Waseem Sajjad (vice presidents), Ahmad Usman (deputy general secretary), Akhtar Munir (finance secretary), Zahid Akram (sports secretary) and Shafiullah (press secretary).Correspondent Woman hurt in mine blast PARACHINAR, Nov 2: A woman suffered serious injuries in a landmine explosion in Boshara village near here on Saturday.

She was taken to the agency headquarters hospital in Parachinar where one of her legs was amputated. The wife of Noor Khan was outside her home when she was struck by a landmine.-Correspondent
