FC man injured in Miramshah attack

MIRAMSHAH, Dec 2: An official of FC was injured when unidentified persons attacked a camp of security forces in Spin Wam area while a convoy escaped narrowly a remote-controlled blast in Dir Duni area of North Waziristan tribal region on Monday.

Sources said that unidentified persons attacked security forces, stationed in a camp in Sin Wam, when curfew was imposed in the area. A soldier of FC identified as Dilawar Khan received bullet injuries in the attack, they added.

Also, a remote-controlled bomb planted by unidentified persons along a roadside in Dir Dunal area of tehsil Ghulam Khan went off with a bang. The blast took place just after a convoy of security forces passed through the place of occurrence.

The security forces also defused an explosive device planted by suspected militants on Bannu-Miramshah road in Khadi area.

Hundreds of vehicles were stranded in district headquarters Bannu and agency headquarters Miramshah owing to imposition of curfew. All public and private sector educational institutions, government offices, bazaars and business centres remained closed owing to enforcement of curfew.

Meanwhile, clashes between two rival tribes in Sin Wam tehsil remained continued as a jirga and political administration failed to broker a truce between them.

About four tribesmen have been killed and five others injuredin the clashes sofar.

The clashes between Shamri Gorikhel and Saifli Kabalkhel tribes erupted over the ownership of a piece land. Both sides were using heavy and light weapons including missiles and rockets against each other. Several houses have been destroyed and damaged in the clashes.

The tribal elders and ulema made efforts to resolve the dispute through jirga but failed to do so. They appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to intervene and resolve the dispute amicably.
