2017-02-04
KARAK: Adviser to the chief minister on prisons Malik Qasim Khan Khattak has claimed that important public welfare projects are being launched in his constituency with the oil and gas royalty funds.

He said work on the remaining portion of the KarakDarratang road has been started which will be completed at a cost of Rs750 million.

Addressing a public meeting at Jehangeri here on Friday, he said the construction of the road had been longstanding demand of the people.

The adviser said the road project was approved by the previous MMA government from Karak to Mianwali district of Punjab, and work on the first phase had already been completed.

The second phase includes construction of 19km portion of the road, he added.

He claimed that the incumbent PTI-led government was interested in development of the district and said more mega projects were in the pipeline. Mr Khattak said he had also initiated work on a water supply scheme from Lawagher dam for different localities of Takht-i-Nusrati.
