LDA City project Land to be acquired directly from owners

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority has been given the go-ahead to acquire 1,040 kanals in Mauza Saddhar directly from landowners instead of through its development partners for the LDA City project.

The scheme is being developed on Ferozepur Road on 60,000 kanal land.

The decision to acquire 1,040kanals was tal(en in a meeting of the LDA`s governing body presided over by Vice Chairman Khwaja Ahmad Hassan.

LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema, members MPAs Bao Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Yaqoob, Nadeem Sethi, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Wasa Managing Director Chaudhry Naseer, LDA additional directors general Amina Munir, Ammara Khan and others attended the meeting.

The body allowed the LDA to alsoget the state-owned land measuring 90 kanals situated at Mauza Rakh Jhedo and 23 plots of Kakezai housing scheme in return for alternate land.

The LDA was also allowed to ensure a mechanism for urgent transfer of plots in LDA City. The body approved a summary of promoting various categories of staff from grade 2 to 16 in next grade. It was allowed to auction the remaining shops of Liberty park-and-ride and Moon Market (Iqbal Town) pla-zas on new business-friendly terms and conditions.

The body decided to de-notify the land measuring 3,868 kanals of Lahore city tehsil and 1,431 kanals of Ferozewala tehsil, Sheikhupura, along the Ravi for theme park.

LTC: The Lahore Transport Company on Thursday commenced B-5 route with the collaboration of Daewoo with provision of state-of-the-art AC diesel buses starting from Railway Station to General Bus Stand Terminal, Bedian Road via Haji Camp, Charing Cross, Mozang Chungi, Services Hospital, Zafar Ali Road, Liberty Roundabout, Center Point, Cavalry Ground, R.A.

Bazar, Masjid Chowk, Defence Road Chowk, Wateen Chowk, DHA Complex.

Initially, 15 buses will be plied on the route and there will be a gradual increase in the fleet, according to LTC officials.
