UNITED NATIONS: Underscoring that the ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) area being investigated, a spokesman for the United Nations has called onPakistan and India to `find a peaceful solution through engagement and dialogue`.

Stephane Djuarric, the spokesman for the UN secretary general, made the statement in reply to a question about deteriorating human rights situationin India-held Kashmir and continued hostilities by New Delhi.

He said that `the alleged ceasefire violations are being investigated by the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan on the Pakistanadministered side of theLine of Control at Domel, Kotli and Bhimber, where the security situation has been tense`.

`We continue to underline the need for the parties to find a peaceful solution through engagement and dialogue,` the spokesman said.
