Hazara Tehreek threatens to block PTl rally

2017-05-04
ABBOTTABAD: Tehreek-i-Sooba Hazara (TSH) has threatened not to allow PTl chief Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to address a public meeting scheduled for May 14 in Abbottabad if its eight-point chaner of demands is not accepted by the provincial government.

The threat was given by Sardar Fida Hussain, secretary general of TSH, while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said that eight years had passed since the seven innocent protesters were killed in the alleged police fire, but neither the previous nor the present governments of KP had bothered to redress the grievances of TSH.

He said that at the death anniversary of those died, the DIG Hazara had made commitment with TSH leaders to meet their basic demands, which included registration of FIR in the case, and payment of compensation to the heirs of the victims, but no progress was made.

Sardar Fida, who was also flanked by other Tehreek leaders, said that the PTl and PML-N got votes from Hazara people, promising them a separate province, but they failed to honour their commitments. He said that the people would take revenge from the two panies by not voting for them in the next general elections.

Mr Fida said that the two parties had still time to implement their commitments.

The TSH leader vowed that the people of Hazara division would go to any extent to get their right of having a separate province realised. He warned that they would also not allow Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to address any public meeting in Abbottabad if he failed to accept the demand of the Hazara people.-Correspondent
