Dawn cartoon

2017-07-04
THIS refers to the cartoon published in Dawn (July2) showing the Sindh chief minister removing the cap of the Inspector General of Police, Mr A.D. Khowaja.

The cartoon depicts the PPP government`s insulting attitude towards an exceptionally honest and upright police officer, who has been deprived of his powers. Throughout his career, Mr Khowaja has acted professionally by following the rule of law and his conscience. And for this reason he is an anathema to PPP leaders, who are least concerned about honesty and good governance.

The Sindh Chief Minister must keep in mind that because of his integrity Mr Khowaja is highly esteemed by the public, whereas the PPP bosses well know exactly what the common man thinks of them.

If the honourable chief minster wants to go down in history with the right words, he must distance himself from policies that only heap scorn on a once vibrant progressive political party.
