ISLAMABAD: A group of disgruntled students of the city campus of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology stormed the campus on Monday and forced the faculty to cancel the ongoing exams.

`This is an unfortunate incident. They [the raiders] demanded quashing of the FIR, which had been registered against them in June for quarrelling with another group, said the Deputy Registrar, Aleem Raza.

He added that the incident has been reported to the police and canceled paper will be rescheduled.

He said that incident has been reported to police.

A brawl between students belonging to ethnic Pakhtun Students Federation and Siraiki Students Federation in the campus on June 9 left about a dozen students injured. But more seriously, gunshots fired in the air during the brawl injured a passerby in a nearby market.

Police called to intervene picked up around 40 students.

They were sent to Adila Jail for their alleged involvement in the incident.

They were later released on bail and have since been demanding cancellation of the FIR registered against them.

So far the university administration has not done so.
