LAHORE: Dozens of Sikhs demonstrated on Monday at GPO Chowk to protest the arrest of Sardar Mastan Singh (former chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee) in a case registered against him on blasphemy and other charges by Nankana police on Nov 25.

They chanted slogans against ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq who, what they claimed, took action against Mastan Singh for raising Sikh pilgrims’ genuine demands at Janmastham of Baba Guru Nanak’s temple.

They sought action against the ETPB chairman and urged the government to release the accused by withdrawing the FIR, which according to them, was false and baseless. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
