KARACHI: Prof Abdul Hameed Kamali, one of Pakistan`s well-known philosophers who specialised on Iqbal, died here on Saturday, family members said. He was 80.

A former director of Iqbal Academy, Prof Kamali was also editor of its journal Iqbal Review and represented Pakistan on international philosophy congresses abroad. Author of a book, The Nature of the Islamic State, he was also president of Ibne Khaldun Educational Society and was also associated with the UN`s technical assistance programme. His philosophical pieces were published in prestigious international journals.
