LAKKI MARWAT: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government lacked vision to put the province on track of progress as the chief minister and his cabinet members were not interested to serve people, said MPA Munawar Khan Marwat.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating work on water supply schemes in Michenkhel locality here on Thursday, the JUI-F lawmaker said that uplift schemes could not be initiated during the last more than one year period and the delay badly impacted the service delivery and provision of basic amenities to people.

He said that Rs2 million would be spent on the water supply schemes that would help to ensure provision of clean drinking water to the residents of urban locality.

The MPA said that chief minister and provincial ministers did not attend their offices during the last two weeks because they were in Islamabad to participate in the so called sit-in of their party there.

`The absence of ministers from the offices has caused numerous problems for people in carrying out routine work,` Mr Marwat said, adding that the chief minister and his cabinet members belonging to PTI should mend their ways and pay heed to the problems of people.

The MPA vowed to get allocated huge funds for provision of electricity and drinking water facilities to the residents of his constituency. He said that PTI MNA from the area Ameerullah Khan Marwat failed to work for welfare of people.

VISITS: Assistant District Officer Qadeer Shah and Hameedullah paid surprise visits to state-run primary schools on Thursday to check the attendance of teachers and Class-IV employees.

They paid the visits following receiving complaints about absenteeism of teaching and non-teaching staff at schools.

They asked the headmasters to observe school timings in letter and spirit and report absent staffers to the offices of SDEO and DEO.

The officials said that truant and latecomer teachers and Class-IV employees would face stern departmental action.

`Absence and dereliction will not be tolerated at all,` they said.

They also directed the headmasters to take measures for bringing improvement in the learning environment at their respective schools and ensure utilisation of parent teacher council (PTC) funds meant for petty nature civil works and purchase of consumable articles in a transparent manner.
