CHAKWAL: Body of a middle aged man stuffed in a sack was found floating in Minwal Dam, police said on Monday.

The police retrieved the body and shifted it to a hospital for medico-legal and identification. The arms of the man were tied.

`The body seems to be four to five days old,` a police official told Dawn. He said the man seemed to be strangled to death and then his body was thrown in the dam.

`The exact cause of his death would be ascertained after forensic test for which the samples have been sent to Lahore,` the official said. The victim was in his late forties.

`We have started investigations into the case after registering a case and we are also trying our best to trace the deceased family,` the official maintained.
