LAHORE: A meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, approved on Monday a teachers’ training programme under which 5,000 school heads will attend a 28-day training abroad.

Mr Sharif said that latest technology would also be utilised in training of the teachers and the training institutions would be developed as centres of excellence, says a handout.

The programme will be evaluated through a third party.

Under the plan, 5,000 teachers will be sent abroad for the master-trainers programme. He said that these teachers would be sent to best training institutions and would be selected purely on merit.

He said the teachers’ training programme would be furthered as a campaign and an effective monitoring system would also be devised.
