KASUR: A committee, made by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, probing into a clash between protesters and police officials on Tuesday, visited the Kasur district police officer (DPO) on Wednesday.

The body, consisting of Additional Inspector General Aftab Nawaz and Lahore Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal, is probing into the Husain Khanwala scandal in which about 300 children were raped in 2009 and their videos circulated.

On Tuesday, complainants clashed with police where 15 police officials and some protesters were injured.

The members recorded the statements of the injured policemen and of complainants.

Police officials also got medico-legal certificates from the Kasur District Headquarters Hospital late on Tuesday.

Earlier, in July when the villagers staged a demonstration before the Lahore Press Club, the then regional police officer had constituted a team that could not give its findings.

DPO Rai Babar Saeed said six accused had been arrested.
