FIA digitalises FIR, interrogation

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency, Punjab, has started digitalisation of its FIR and interrogation.

United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) representative Cesar Guedes inaugurated a computer-based training `eLearning` centre at the FIA Lahore office here on Wednesday.

Ian Hudson, Ms Delia Mills of Australian High Commission and Martin Banks of the UK High Commission were also present. FIA Lahore Director Dr Usman Anwar said the agency had launched digitalisation of FIR and related paper work, developing a dedicated `interview room` and eLearning with the help of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

He appreciated the support provided to the FIA from the international community through UNODC office in Pakistan and assured to continue working in partnership with it.

Mr Guedes said the FIA was developing its expertise to overcome challenges like human and migrant smuggling and other form of transnational organised crimes.
