KARAK: Local police have claimed arresting a group of kidnappers and recovering a person form their captivity.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, Ijaz Ahmad was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from Mithakhel bazaar and was shifted to Isak Chountra. After being informed of the incident, a police team led by DSP headquarters Mehar Ali raided houses of alleged kidnappers and arrested six of them. They were identified as Musharraf Khan, Zahidullah, Rooh Niaz, Ziaullah, Gul Zaman and Munsif Khan, all residents of Isak Chountra. Police also recovered the kidnapped person from their custody and seized a Kalashnikov, three pistols and a 12-bore gun along with cartridges.

Meanwhile, family sources rejected the police claim that those arrested were kidnappers, saying the abduction of the man was result of an old enmity between rival groups. — Correspondent
