LAHORE: A Lahore High Court division bench on Thursday granted prearrest bail to two initial owners of Bahauddin Zakriya University`s Lahore sub-campus and directed them to join investigation of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The counsel for Ageel Tufail and Gulistan Ahmad stated in the petition that his clients were the first owners of the campus in question. He said they had established a company `West Continental Group` and signed a written agree-ment with the BZU for setting up its campus in Lahore.

The counsel said later the agreement was transferred to Mazahar Iqbal and Tahir Iqbal who further transferred the agreement to another party. He said the petitioners had no role in establishing the sub-campus and looting students on account of admission fees. He said NAB had launched investigation against the petitioners and raids were being conducted for their arrest.

The bench, headed by Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa, allowed the pre-arrest bail to the petitioners.
