JI youth wing in Dir to elect office-bearers

TIMERGARA: The district chapter of Jamaat-iIslami on Monday announced schedule for elections of its youth wing for the next term.

Speaking at a news conference, JI district emir Maulana Asadullah said that youth were the real asset of the country. `We have already registered 23,000 members of JI youth wing,` he said, adding that more youth would be registered in the district till December 23.

Flanked by district deputy chief of JI Hafiz Noorul Haq, information secretary Hafiz Yaqubur Rehman and JI youth wing district president Shad Mohammad Shaheen, he said that elections of the youth wing would be held at union council and tehsil council level.

He said that candidates could submit nomination papers with their respective election commissioners till December 7.

Mr Asadullah said that all nomination papers would be scrutinised on December 10 while final list of candidates would e displayed on December 13. He said that candidates would run election campaign till December 31 while elections would be held on January 1.

JIRGA: Accepting a jirga from Punjab, led by JI central secretary general Liaquat Baloch, father of a 4thyear studentforgave the killer without any condition.

The student, Mohammad Aziz, was killed by Amjad Aziz Gujjar a few months ago in the college hostel. The jirga visited the hujra of Advocate Azad Bakht, the father of the killed student, and sought pardon for the killer.

Azad Bakht pardoned the killer and said that he could not turn down the jirga from Punjab. He said that Pakhtuns believed in jirga system so he was pleased to forgive the killer of his son. Speaking on the occasion, Liaquat Baloch said that other people should also follow the tradition of Pakhtun to forgive their enemies. He thanked the father of the killed student. Correspondent
