Students seek removal of Chitral college principal

2016-12-06
CHITRAL: The Muttahida Talaba Mahaz has demanded removal of the Government College Chitral`s principal over the alleged misconduct.

Leaders of the group Ashfaq Ahmad, Amiruddin, Bilal Jan and Khalid Anwar told a news conference here that principal Masood Ahmad behaved very badly not only towards students but also towards teachers and that a strike was observed last year on the matter.

They claimed the principal swore and tortured some students leading to a twoday strike by their colleagues and that the strike was called off at the MTA`s interference but unfortunately, a number of students were rusticated af terwards.

The MTM leaders said schools and colleges should be free from all kinds of tensions to ensure a conducive and congenial environment for education but that wasn`t possible until the current principal was in office.

They said the members of all student organisations were united against the principal and had pledged to go to any extent for his removal.

The MTMieaders said they would stage a sit-in outside the deputy commissioner`s offices on next Thursday and block the Chitral-Peshawar Road on Saturday if action wasn`t taken against the principal over misconduct.

They demanded the chief minister and higher education minister step in and ensure the meeting of their demand to the relief of college teachers and students.
