Three die in separate accidents

LAHORE: Three men died in separate road accidents in the city on Tuesday.

A 40-year-old labourer, identified as Meer Alam, was killed when a truck hit him in Shafiqabad.

Teh police said Alam was walking on the road when a truck hit him near Batti Chowk. As a result, he died on the spot. The driver left the truck on road and fled.

Teh police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy, impounded the truck and registered a case against the unidentified driver.

In another incident, a young man was killed while another was injured when their motorcycles collided with each other in Sundar.

The police said Naeem, 30, lost control over his motorcycle and collided with another motorcyclist coming from the opposite side. Both the motorcyclists fell on ground and suffered injuries. The injured were admitted to the Jinnah Hospital where Naeem succumbed to his injuries.

The police handed over the body to the deceased`s family after completing legal formalities.

In yet another accident, a motorcyclist was killed in Shadman.

Police said the motorcycle of Qadeer, 22, was hit by a van.

The van driver fled the scene.

Qadeer was admitted to the Mayo Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case against the unidentified driver.
