Belarusian language, culture chair at Numi

Belarusian Language and Culture Chair was inaugurated at the National University of Modern Languages (Numl) in a bid to promote bilateral ties between Belarus and Pakistan and bringing the two nations together via language and culture.

The chair was inaugurated by Belarusian Minister of Education Dr Mikhail A. Zhuravkov and those attending include Numl Rector retired Maj Gen Ziaud Din Najam, Higher Education Commission Executive Director Dr Arshad Ali, Numl Director General Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal and others.

Speaking on the occasion, the Belarusian minister said the establishment of the chair will help promote bilateral ties between the two countries. He said relations between the two countries are fast developing and that cooperation in the education sector will bring the youth and academics of both countries together.

The NumI rector said Numl is the first university in Pakistan to establish relations with the Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU) Belarus with the establishment of the Belarusian language chair. He said an MoU has been signed between the two universities for further collaboration and that an Urdu chair will be established at MSLU in order to further strengthen relations.
