ISLAMABAD: The capital police have arrested persons for their alleged involvement in criminal activities and recovered booties worth Rs31million, narcotics and weapons from them, police said here on Thursday.

As many as 219 criminals were arrested for drug peddling or transportation of illegal weapons.

The police recovered 101 kg hashish, five kg heroin, 1100gram opium, 644 bottles of liquor, 77 pistols, seven Kalashnilcovs, 10 guns and 1,197 rounds from them.

Police apprehended 34 persons for their alleged involvement in snatching cars and recovered 31 cars and motorbikes from their possession.

In addition, police nabbed 85 alleged robbers and thieves besides recovering gold ornaments, mobile phones, laptops, cash and other valuables from them.

Police traced two kidnapping cases and arrested six kidnappers besides recovering the victims. Staff Reporter
