Two bodies in gunnysacks found

PESHAWAR: Decomposed bodies of two young men packed in gunnysacks were recovered from the fields in Mathra area here on Friday.

An official of the local police said there was no sign of violence on the bodies, which were sent to a local mortuary for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.

He said the papers recovered from their pockets showed the twowere Mohammad Zeb and Asadullah, both 24.

The official said the two belonged to Khyber Agency.

Another official said police had learned from the Khasadar force that the deceased had gone missing around 10 days ago.

BLAST DAMAGES HOUSE: A bomb blast damaged a house in Danishabad area early on Friday.

However, no damage to human life was reported.

Police said owner of the house Raflullah denied having any enmi-ty.

They said a case against unidentified terrorists had been registered.

Also in the day, a blast targeting a trailer reportedly carrying Nato container took place near Hayatabad police station. Police said no casualty was reported in the blast.

AFGHANS GIVEN ULTIMATUM: The district administration on Friday gave two days to Afghan nationals to vacate two refugee camps located on the outskirts of the city.

Deputy Conunissioner ZaheerulIslam told Dawn that the two Afghan refugees` camps in Mattani village and Jabba Jail on Charsadda Road would be vacated within two days.

He said the camps, where more than 500 Afghan families lived, had been set up on the Pakistan Army`s land.

`The decision to vacate them (camps) was taken two years ago.

However, it couldn`t be implemented for certain reasons,` he said.

The deputy commissioner said the UNHCR had already acquired land in Ghari Chandan area for ac-commodating Afghan families to be shifted from both camps.

He said the UNHCR had arranged trucks for shifting Afghan families to Ghari Chandan area.

Earlier in the day, a meeting held here to make a decision on the matter.

The deputy commissioner chaired the meeting, where Afghan Counsel General Mohammad Ibrahim, UNHCR Protection Officer Sher Ahmed, and Peshawar tehsildar Mir Laig Shah were in attendance.
