QUETTA: A soldier of a law enforcement agency died on Tuesday when a patrol vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a roadside in Awaran area.

Sources said that some militants had planted an IED on the roadside which they detonated with a remote control device while targeting the security vehicle.

However, other security personnel travelling in the patrol vehicle remained unhurt, they said, adding the vehicle was badly damaged in the explosion.-Staff Correspondent
