ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to attend the 17th meeting of the Heads of State Council (HoSC)of the Shanghai Cooper ation Organisation (SCO) at Astana in Kazakhstan on Thursday (today).

The HoSC is the highest decision-making body of the SCO which meets every year.

During the two-day summit, Pakistan will be given full membership of the SCO.

Pakistan had applied for the membership in 2010.

`Pakistan subscribes to the Charter of SCO and the `Shanghai Spirit`,` the Foreign Of fice saidin a statement.

The SCO is expected to help Pakistan underscore its interest in regional peace, stability and development.-APP
