MUZAFFARGAR H: A homeopath was killed at his clinic in Basti Bukan, about 5km from here on Sunday night.

Jamal Khan Bhrani was working at his clinic when three people, including Lakha Buk, allegedly opened fire on him and fled. Bhrani died on the spot.

The deceased`s family held a protest by putting the body on Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan roads and blocked the traffic for hours. The police reached there for discussions with the family.

The protesters, including the family and neighbours of Dr Bhrani, chanted slogans against District Police Officer Awais Ahmad for not taking action against Lakha Buk for the last two years. They ended the protest after the police assured them of action against the killers. Later, the victim`s body was sent to District Headquarters Hospital Muzaffargarh for postmortem.

Sources said Lakha Buk is a gangster who had killed three people last year and dozens of cases had been registered against him and his accomplices. His gang is involved in robberies on roads in the district.

The police registered a case against Buk and his accomplices.
