Women to cast vote in Dir by-polls, says minister

UPPER DIR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said has said that women would be facilitated to use their constitutional right to vote in the by-election in PK-93, Wari, Upper Dir-III.

He was addressing a public gathering organised in connection with the Jamaat-i-Islami`s election campaign in Wari area of PK-93.

He claimed that the candidate of tripartite alliance of JI, Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf and Qaumi Watan Party would easily win the Sept 15 by-election to the provincial assembly constituency.

Upper Dir district nazim Sahibzada Fasihullah, MPA Mohammad Ali Kohistani, Malik Behram Khan and PTI`s Sajjad Fayyaz were also present on the occasion.

The finance minister said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and JI chief Sirajul Haq would also come to Wari and address a public gathering.

He said that the alliance of PTI and JI was based on principles and it would be further strengthened with the passage of time.

He said that JI was taking part in the election on the basis of its performance, adding that former MPA Malik Behram had done record development worl( in PK-93.

The minister said that some of the PTI workers were being misguided by PPP, but they would soon realise that JI`s was a joint candidate in the by-election.

He claimed that an efficient local government system had been introduce d in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the PTI-led coalition government.

He said that other provinces were also adopting this system.

He said that the provincial government would spend Rs420 billion through the local governments to eradicate poverty and resolve issues being faced by people at the grassroots level.

Sahibzada Fasihullah, Mohammad Ali and Malik Behram also addressed the gathering and said that Upper Dir was a stronghold of JI and its candidate would again win from PK-93 constituency.
