Turkey`s anti-graft initiatives exemplary: JI

LAHORE: The Turkish leadership has set an excellent example of national development by controlling corruption and Turkey and Pakistan can jointly lead the Muslim world, says Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq.

He was speaking at a reception hosted in the honour of the Chief Adviser of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Mr H Ilnur Cevil( at Mansoora on Tuesday.

The failure of the recent coup in Turkey sent a wave of jubilation among the Pakistani people as Turkey enjoyed a high position in the Muslim world for being the symbol of the Ottoman Empire and the last seat of the caliphate, he said.

He said the oppressed people all over the world considered Mr Erdogan as their `last hope`. The JI chief saidTurkey and Pakistan were linked through eternal bonds of Islam and they could play an effective role in pulling the Muslim world out of the present anarchy and lead to unity of Ummah.

Mr Haq said Turkey`s rapid development under its president reflected Mr Erdogan`s political vision and exemplary planning skills, adding that the entire Islamic world should learn from the Turkish experience.

Mr Cevik, on the occasion, lauded the JI`s services and said the goal of Turkey`s Justice and Development Party and the Jamaat was the same. He also conveyed to Mr Haq the good wishes of the Turkishpresident.
