Early completion of Bisham grid station ordered

SHANGLA: Shangla District Nazim Niaz Ahmed Khan has directed the Pesco authorities to expedite work on the Shang grid station and complete the project in the scheduled time.

The district nazim made a surprise visit to the site of 132kw grid station in Bisham tehsil here on Tuesday. District council members Sarfaraz Khan, Sher Ali Khan, Sherinzada Khan, trade union president Hamidur Rehman and other local elders were present on the occasion.

The district nazim said establishment of Shang grid station had been longstanding demand of the local people, adding work on the grid was underway and would be completed soon.

He said the grid station would help overcome loadshedding and low voltage to some extent.

Niaz Ahmed said since Bisham was a major town of the Shangla district it needed proper attention, and ordered installation of streetlights in the town within two weeks.

On the complaints of local people the nazim directed executive engineer of the public health engineering department to take measures for repair of the broken water pipeline so that water shortage could be overcome in Bisham.

The nazim also directed the tehsil municipal administration to ensure cleanliness of the city and fix the sewerage system.

The local trade union president complained about unjust fines imposed by the local administration and food department on shopkeepers.

On this, the district directed the assistant commissioner to assuage the concerns ofthe traders.

Earlier, the district nazim inaugurated a private courier service in Bisham.
