Mobile court disposes of 40 cases

PESHAWAR, Dec 8: The mobile court visited Daudzai area on the outskirts of the provincial capital the other day and disposed of around 40 cases of civil and criminal nature.

Some cases were decided by adopting alternate dispute resolution mechanism.

The custom-built bus was parked on the premises of Daudzai police station, around 15kms from the Judicial Complex here on Charsadda Road.

A civil judge cum judicial magistrate, Fazal Wadud, designated as judge mobile court, heard the cases in the courtroom setup in the bus.

Several trained mediators and lawyers, including president of Peshawar District Bar Association, Maulana Shamsul Haq, vice president Ashfaq Daudzai, general secretary Qazi Mohammad Ashfaq and othersalso accompanied the court. They played important role in mediating between different parties and convinced them to enter into compromise following fighting their respective cases for years.

The court decided a total of 42 cases, including 11 civil and 31 criminal cases. The nearby police stations also produced several offenders nabbed by them during 24 hours in petty nature cases. These cases pertained to carrying contraband in small quantity and arms and the suspects were charged under the Control of Narcotics Substance Act and Arms Ordinance.

The court set free the accused persons after imposing fine against them. Certain suspects arrested on charges of being a threat to public order were also released on submission of personal bonds.-Bureau Report
