UTP dies from ‘heart failure’

HYDERABAD: An under trial prisoner (UTP) of the Central Jail Hyderabad expired because of heart attack at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Hyderabad on Wednesday night, jail police said.

They said that when Sher Din Lashari, 50, son of Mohammad Soomar Lashari, complained of a severe chest pain on Wednesday night, he was taken to the LUH Hyderabad where he died of cardiac arrest during treatment at the emergency ward. He was the patient of high blood pressure, they added.

He was serving in the jail since Dec 2, 2016, facing various corruption charges by the anti-corruption establishment (ACE), they said.

He was a resident of Hussainabad, Hyderabad, and was said to be a retired Tapedar (official) of the revenue department.

The body was handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities.
