Rs2bn development projects approved

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved five development projects with an estimated cost of Rs2 billion.

The approval to this effect was given at a meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP with additional secretary Khalid Pervez in the chair here on Monday, according to a handout.

Administrative secretaries and officials of P&D, finance, environment, C&W, LG&RD, health, elementary and secondary education departments were in attendance.

The approved projects include debt for education SWAP-Il elementary and secondary education department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, phase-II, at a cost of Rs359 million, establishment of KMU Institute of Nursing & Medical Technology at a cost of Rs877 million and establishment of Postgraduate Medical Institute at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar (phase-Ill) at a cost of Rs279 million.

Besides, the approval was also given to construction of two lecture theaters, an auditorium, building for prosthodontics, a tube-well and an overhead tank in Khyber CoIIege of Dentistry, Peshawar, at a cost of Rs374 million.

The meeting also approved reconstruction of anatomy block and boundary wall and renovation of the auditorium of Khyber Medical CoIIege at a cost of Rs128 million.
