Two killed in rivals’ clash

PESHAWAR: Two people were killed and three injured as rival groups clashed in Gharibabad area of the Peshawar city on Monday evening.

According to a spokesman of Rescue 1122, Bilal Ahmed Faizi, the deceased were identified as Mohammad and Abdul Khaliq, while the injured were Toor Khan, Aman Khan and Bakhtiar. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where their condition was stated to be precarious.

An official at the concerned Paharipura police station said that they didn’t have details of the cause of the clash but according to initial information the people were relatives and had a dispute over construction of a wall.

The deceased persons, police said, belonged to one group and injured to the other.

“Investigation department personnel also visited the crime scene and the FIR will be registered after obtaining details,” the official said.

Similarly, a man identified as Tariq of Kakakhel, also in Paharipura, died mysteriously and the local people brought his body to the police station on Monday.

A police official said the deceased had differences with his wife. The official said the people took his body to the police station as they said the victim had asked them to conduct autopsy of his body after his death.

The police official said the case would be registered after the medico-legal report.
